Becoming a mother changes everything, including who you are. Softer Ground supports moms through that change with workshops, reflective tools, and community grounded in real clinical knowledge. You give so much to everyone around you. Now it’s your turn.
Three ways in, depending on how much time and energy you have this month.
The newborn visits have slowed down. Friends stopped asking you out because you never say yes. You haven’t showered in three days, you’re running on broken sleep, and you and your partner are both a little on edge.
Then you catch yourself in the mirror and wonder who that is. And whether it’s going to be like this forever.
If that’s where you are right now, you’re not crazy, and plenty of other moms are standing right there with you.
That’s the mirror moment. It isn’t really about the tired eyes or the hair you haven’t washed. It’s the sense that the person you were before kids has gone quiet, and you’re not sure when it happened.
For a lot of moms it shows up around six months, once the newborn rush wears off. For others it’s later. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you, and it doesn’t mean you love your kids any less. It’s what happens when you pour everything you have into other people for a long time.
Our workshops start right there. We’re not trying to get the old you back. We help you get to know who you are now, and make a little room for her.
It can sound likeYou can love your kids and still miss the life you had before them. Come sit with a group of moms who get it, say the things you can’t say at the playground, and leave feeling more connected to yourself again.
Prompts like “How did I walk in today?” and “What’s the one thing making me want to cry right now?” You write first, then share only what you want to.
The mood swings, the fog, the guilt. We walk through the psychology and the body science behind them, in plain language, so you stop blaming yourself for them.
Nobody fixes you, and nobody tells you what to do. You get room to think, a mini journal to take home, and a few moms who know exactly what you mean.

I didn’t realize how much I needed this until I was sitting there.

Annika
Liz became a mom first, and Annika got a lot of tearful phone calls. When Annika’s turn came, the calls went both ways. The longer we talked, the clearer it got that every mom we knew was carrying the same things and saying none of them out loud.
Thirty pages of prompts for the ten quiet minutes you get during nap time. Pick it up, answer one question, put it down. No streaks to keep.
If you need more support than a workshop can give, we’ll help you find it. Reaching out is a strong thing to do.
There’s a long gap between the six-week checkup and a therapy waitlist. We run workshops for new moms returning to work, and short trainings for HR teams and staff on how to support them and where to point them.
